In the latest categories released by the organizers of the prestigious annual award ceremony that celebrates African Americans who prow their career in entertainment – music, movie and sport, several artist were brought into the long list of the nominees to battle for an accolade on the fast approaching date.
Among the new addition includes three Africa’s talented musicians – our very own Nigerian Afro-house sensational, Niniola, Ghanaian amazing talent, Kwesi Arthur and South African highly revered recording artist, SJava.
This is Niniola and her fellow African counterpart’s first nomination for the highly reputable award gala, BET Awards.
All three were nominated in same category, the “Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act” alongside counterparts from other continents, including Not3s (UK), Nailah Blackman (Trinidad & Tobago), MC SOffia (Brazil), Take A Mic (France), Sik-K (South Korea) and others.

Excited Niniola took to her instagram account to announce the new achievement and iterate her desire to come back home with the award.

Kwesi Arthur was shocked to have been among the nominees as he remind his fans of the new step in his journey to stardom. He clearly aspire to grace the stage as the winner of the category as he plead for vote from his fans, given them detail method of voting via instagram.

Sjava was busy on his twitter page (@SJava_ATM) as the announcement of his nomination went viral with fellow South Africans and media alike, congratulate him for the achievement.

Their nomination counts the eighth African artistes to have earned a nomination at the fast approaching 2018 edition of the award with the likes of Davido, Tiwa Savage, Cassper Nyovest, Distruction Boyz and Fally Ipupa earlier nominated for the award of “Best International Act”.
This is a good news for Africans and most emphatically, this three artist who earned their first nod on the prestigious platform as this could only mean an elevation in their musical career, suggesting an accelerated audience of their music outside Africa.
